City of Nedlands Parking and Verge Rules
Before a kerbside or foreshore shoot, it helps to check local parking and verge access through the City of Nedlands, which manages the reserves and streets across the suburb and around Matilda Bay.
Yes. The Swan River foreshore around Point Resolution Reserve and Matilda Bay is one of the most popular Nedlands backdrops we use. We usually schedule these shoots early morning or late afternoon when the light is soft and the reserves are quieter, which keeps backgrounds clean and reflections off the paintwork looking their best. We’ll check any access or parking considerations for the chosen spot before the session.
Many Nedlands streets and driveways sit under mature jacarandas and peppermint trees, which cast patchy, dappled light that can leave blotchy highlights on paintwork. We work around this by timing the shoot for more even light, repositioning the car, or moving to an open setting nearby. This keeps the finish looking consistent rather than spotted with bright patches and harsh shadows.
